New project: refurbishment of a slurry tank

As part of the expansion of our repair services, our teams recently carried out a complete overhaul of a slurry tanker that had been severely corroded.

The goal of this project was to give this equipment a new lease on life by providing long-lasting surface protection while restoring its polished appearance.

This process consisted of three key technical steps.

  • Sandblasting: This involves spraying an abrasive under pressure onto the steel to remove corrosion and paint residue. This step restores a clean, sound, and slightly rough surface, which is essential for the proper adhesion of subsequent treatments.
  • Metal coating: A layer of metal (zinc) is then sprayed onto the surface to create durable corrosion protection, particularly suited for equipment subjected to demanding operating conditions.
  • Epoxy primer: An epoxy primer coat is applied to further reinforce the steel’s protection. This treatment improves its resistance to moisture, corrosion, and external damage.

Thanks to this process, the dump truck now benefits from enhanced protection and a completely renewed appearance, allowing it to return to service under optimal conditions.
