Among the many services offered by Royen, our “Restoration” department is charged with returning your trailers and tractor-trailers to their former glory, always with durability as the watchword. It is not just a simple refurbishment: after a complete renovation, your vehicle will leave our workshops as if it was brand new!
After we have inspected the vehicle, we will take the time to discuss your expectations and review the scope of the work to be carried out together. This work can vary greatly depending on the customer's needs and the vehicle type.
The reconditioning operations range from sandblasting to complete reconditioning to overhauling electrical, mechanical or hydraulic components.
During a complete overhaul, the trailer is fully disassembled and each component is thoroughly inspected to determine whether it needs to be repaired or replaced based on its level of wear.
Sandblasting (SA3)
The chassis and various metal parts are stripped down and then sent to our sandblasting shop. This process involves blasting the parts with an abrasive under pressure to remove corrosion, impurities, and old paint residue. It results in a clean, sound, and slightly rough surface, which is essential for ensuring proper adhesion of the coatings applied afterward.
Metal plating
A layer of metal (zinc) is then sprayed onto the surface to create a durable corrosion-resistant coating, particularly suited for equipment subjected to demanding operating conditions. This hot-dip galvanizing process is the industry standard for significantly extending the service life of equipment.
The chassis is thus completely refurbished before receiving its finish, in accordance with Royen’s quality standards.
All the surface treatment steps, from sandblasting to painting as well as metallisation, are carried out within our own facilities. The fact that the process is controlled from A to Z in-house ensures customers of careful work, executed according to state-of-the-art rules for the best possible protection against corrosion.
